When the lovely Valley first booked her wedding in earlier this year and mentioned it was to be held at the Port Douglas Lakeside Retreat, we were absolutely beside ourselves. I had been stalking the venue for months on social media, dying for someone to invite us to an event there so I could see it in all it's beauty!
But only a couple of months out, it unfortunately went up for sale, and if it sold the wedding might have to be moved. Well luckily for us it hadn't sold by the 30th of July, (although I can't possibly think why as I know I would move there in a heartbeat!) so the wedding was on!
This incredible house was a beautiful backdrop for Valley and Matthieu's casual, tropical themed wedding. With hints of gold and plenty of twinkly lights this was sure to be one gorgeous evening.
Guests started off with a spiced rum mojito in our big dispensers followed by a selection of beer, wines and champagne. After dining on some amazing Paella from Coral Coast Catering, the couple were blessed with a hand-fasting ceremony, a new one to us but fabulous nonetheless. And after THE most romantic first dance, guests (particularly the kids!) went nuts on the dancefloor to tunes by the super talented Nikki Doll.
A spectacular location for a gorgeously romantic event.
