The Future of Cocktails

Starting this bar has given me a great interest in all things cocktail.  Where previously my only interest in cocktails was drinking them (!), I'm now pouring over menus in restaurants and ordering based on the unique nature of the drinks.  Although I wont lie, I'm still greatly enjoying the drinking part!

 

On a recent trip to Noosa we stumbled upon Miss Moneypennys.  At the far end of Hastings Street this little cocktail haven had the most fascinating menu so naturally we stopped in for a beverage or two... I ordered a Rose Petal Martini (gin, lychee juice and rose syrup) which sounds delicious in itself but when it arrived my beautiful drink was also accompanied by a tiny little shot glass of candy floss.  Yes you heard correctly-candy floss! 

 

I could be very happy in a world where the drinks come with little glasses of sweets so I'm hoping that it is in this direction that the future of cocktails lies.  Although someone did mention Mezcal...fingers crossed its not going that way.
